first_img CMU Australia Scholarships for International Students Tweet LinkedIn 0 Pocket Share 0 ZUKOnnect Fellowships for Scholars from Africa, Asia and Latin America July 26, 2019 Published by sanja ← EIB-GDN Program in Applied Development Finance 2019/2020 Deadline: 19 August 2019Open to: women from Asia and the Pacific countries (specifically from the sub-regions of the Pacific, East Asia, Central Asia, South Asia and Southeast Asia) with relevant experience and skillsBenefits: salary range commences at THB 51,750 (equivalent of USD 1,500) per month plus other benefitsDescriptionAsia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) is currently inviting women from Asia and the Pacific countries (specifically from the sub-regions of the Pacific, East Asia, Central Asia, South Asia and Southeast Asia) with relevant experience and skills to apply for the Programme Officer Position for Feminist Law and Practice Programme (FLP-PO).The successful applicant will be working with our committed Secretariat to support a powerful network of women’s rights organisations, movements and activists across the region; significantly contribute to APWLD’s institutional strength, development and sustainability; and realise APWLD’s founding vision of empowering Asia Pacific women to use law as an instrument of change for equality, justice, peace and development.EligibilityApplicants should show demonstrated commitment to the promotion of women’s human rights in Asia and the Pacific. Experience in working with a movement-based organisation such as feminist movements,  indigenous peoples, farmers, migrants, workers, fisherfolk, dalits, LBTQI, or other movements is an asset;Experience and knowledge of using law from a feminist perspective to advance women’s human rights as well as challenge discriminatory laws, policies and practices at local, national, regional or international level;A degree in law; social and political sciences; human rights, economics, development, or women’s studies;Minimum of five years’ experience in development work and women’s rights at the national, regional level or international level;Knowledge of international human rights and women and development issues in Asia and the Pacific;In-depth understanding of the political, economic and socio-cultural environments in the region.  Experience in legal, policy analysis is an asset;Experience in organising and facilitating (feminist, participatory) capacity building activities; monitoring, learning and reflection meetings;High level project management such as  programme planning, implementation, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation;Experience in campaigns to defend women human rights defenders is an asset;Experience in organising alternative justice spaces for women (e.g. tribunals, public hearings, etc.) is an asset;Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse, membership driven network;Excellent command of English language, both oral and written and demonstrated ability to write for movements as well as program reports and project proposals.    Proficiency in another language other than English is an asset;Good interpersonal skills, with ability to network in a multi-cultural environment and to develop strong professional relationships with members and other stakeholders;Proficient ICT skills – familiarity in using online shared platforms such as Google Suite and Dropbox is preferred;Must be able to travel overseas as required.BenefitsSalary range commences at THB 51,750 (the equivalent of USD 1,500) per month.
